Murphys Creek Escape keeps the experience relaxed and down to earth while providing the facilities campers rely on. From showers and laundry to cooking, play and adventure spaces, the essentials are close by when you need them.
There are two clean amenities blocks. The bushland block has individual cubicles, a larger family room and separate laundry, and is being refitted for a more modern bathroom experience. The powered block has separate male and female facilities, with laundry on the ladies’ side. Showers use 20-cent pieces: 20 cents provides two minutes of water.
Equipped with an electric barbecue, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, blender, sinks, lighting, power and seating. A large bonfire ring is ideal for camp-oven cooking.
All sites now have in-ground fire pits. Fires are welcome unless a Fire Ban is in place. Please use the supplied fire pits; any other pit must sit on legs, with ash placed in the site fire pit before departure.
The large off-leash dog run gives campers a safe place to burn off excess puppy energy. Obstacles are planned for the area. A maximum of two dogs is permitted per site.
There are two play areas for children, including one with a distinctive tractor play structure.
Gas, firewood, kindling, ice, drinks, ice creams and a selection of camping essentials are available onsite.
Both amenities blocks have washing machines and dryers, priced at two $2 coins per cycle. Clotheslines are provided at each block for all air-drying.
Archery, the giant swing and the medium ropes course run every Saturday and during peak periods including school holidays and long weekends. Special-request sessions require at least 10 participants.
Two shady, watered horse yards let visitors camp alongside their horses.
The facilities are deliberately practical. You can prepare meals, wash clothes, enjoy a hot shower and return to camp without losing the relaxed bush atmosphere.
The amenities may be modest and a little older in places, but cleanliness matters to the Murphys Creek Escape team, and improvements are continuing.
