This exciting community event invites families, friends, schools, clubs and businesses to get creative, build a unique billy cart and take on the track at Murphys Creek Escape. With a range of race categories for different ages and team groups, everyone can join in the fun — whether you’re a first-time racer or ready to compete for the top spot.
Competitors will have the chance to showcase their creativity, racing skills and team spirit across a variety of categories, with trophies and great prizes up for grabs. There will also be special awards for the Best Dressed Billy Cart and Driver, celebrating the most creative and eye-catching designs on race day.
Race Categories:
Under 10’s Race – A shorter course designed especially for our youngest racers
10–18 Years Race – A fun challenge for junior and teenage competitors
Adult 18+ Race – For grown-up racers ready to take on the track
Seniors Race (Over 50) – Bringing experience and enthusiasm to the competition
Family Event – Teams of up to 4 participants competing over 3 laps
School / Club Challenge – A chance for groups to race, represent and have fun together
Business & Corporate Team Event – Teams of up to 4 participants competing over 3 laps

At Murphys Creek Escape, we love celebrating the natural environment that surrounds us. The Billy Cart Bush Bash is more than just a day of racing and family fun — it’s an opportunity to support the incredible work of Wildlife Rescue, Rehabilitation & Education.
Funds raised from this event will help provide essential care for injured, orphaned and vulnerable native wildlife, including rescue, rehabilitation and ongoing support for animals in need. From koalas and echidnas to gliders, birds, reptiles and other native species, every contribution helps wildlife carers continue their important work.
