The squirrel glider (Petaurus norfolcensis) is one of the more impressive members of that group. It is bigger than the sugar glider, considerably bigger than the tiny feathertail glider, and capable of covering remarkable distances through the air between trees. It is also almost entirely nocturnal, which is exactly why so few people encounter one.
